"Last year we lost to this team at home and that was a feeling I never wanted to feel again," Turner said. "We had several of the guys from last year's team in the audience tonight and it was awesome to have them here supporting us and I wanted to get the win for them just as much as I wanted it for us."

The Bruins entered the game at 5-15 and were coming off a 75-73 victory over Warren Wilson on Friday night. The Cougars entered Saturday's game having dropped back to back games to Toccoa Falls College and Piedmont International University. The next chapter of the BJU-CCC rivalry was set to be written as the two teams took the floor in the Davis Field House.

Kyle Turner picked up where he left off and started the game with a 3-point play and followed it up with a three-point shot to help the Bruins take the early lead. The team's defense was able to limit Cougars guard Eddie Moalobo, who has been the main scorer for Clearwater this season.

At the midway point of the half, the Bruins' attack-the-rim mentality was evident as the team earned points in the paint and trips to the line which sparked a 17-0 run to allow the Bruins to take control. Dustin Killough scored 14 points off the bench for the Bruins as the team shot 57% from the field in the half to help them take a 50-26 lead into the break.

"We wanted to put our players in a position to be successful," Coach Ring said. "We wanted to win the battle on the glass and run the floor and I felt like we did that really well."

In the second half, Chae Dexter opened up the scoring for the Bruins to continue to build on the lead. The Cougars then started to make a run behind their outside shooting and getting opportunities from the free throw line. The Bruins responded by continuing to attack the rim as Dustin Killough and company drove through open lanes to score. The lead reached up to 32 points at one point in the half as the team was firing on all cylinders. As the final horn sounded, the Bruins captured their first victory over Clearwater Christian College with a decisive 83-55 win.

"I was really proud of our effort tonight," Coach Ring said. "We had a game plan and our guys came out and executed it well. Our guys came in this week really focused and came in believing they could win back to back games this weekend. I felt like there was a different feel with our guys in that they brought a great focus and played one of the better games we've played in a long time."

Kyle Turner led the Bruins with 24 points and 14 rebounds while Dustin Killough scored 22. Chae Dexter was the only other Bruin in double figures with 13 points. The team dominated in rebounding as the Bruins won the margin 45-30. The team also had 23 assists on the night as a team while shooting 50% from the field and holding the Cougars to 28% shooting.

With the win, the Bruins improve to 6-15 on the season and have now won 3 of their last 4 games. Next up, the Bruins will welcome Columbia International University on Tuesday night.
