In the opening minutes, the Panthers jumped out to an early lead but the Bruins came right back as Nate Ellenwood hit two jumpers and a three-pointer to spark a 9-0 run as the team led 14-12. The Panthers responded with a run of their own as they regained the lead. Back and forth the two teams went trading baskets with the scre remaining close.
With just over seven minutes remaining, Kendall Norrington made two baskets and Daniel Fuller hit a three as the Bruins battled back to tie the game at 28-28. In the second half, Fuller hit another three but the Panthers answered back with a three of their own to keep the lead. The Bruins were able to find open looks, but each time the team tried to cut into the lead, the Panthers would find an answer as the game began to come to a close.
Cameron Julian hit a three for the Panthers to give the team a 74-62 lead with just over five minutes to play. Although the Bruins hit some shots down the stretch, they couldn't close the gap as the Panthers held on to win 85-72.
The Bruins struggled in leaving points on the court particularly from the free throw line as the team shot 5-15 from the stripe in the game. Ellenwood's near double-double led the team and Daniel Fuller was 3-6 from beyond the arc to finish with 11 points.
Next up, the Bruins will have some time off before returning home for their home opener on December 3. The team will welcome Brevard College to the Davis Field House with tip-off set for 7 p.m.
