The Bruins men's soccer team opens pool play at the NCCAA DII National Tournament in Kissimmee, Florida, on Wednesday night. The team will play two pool play matches with the winner of each pool advancing to the national championship game on Saturday.
For the first pool play match, the Bruins will face #6 Johnson University (TN). The Royals received at-large bid to compete at the national tournament, after falling to Mideast champion Grace Christian 1-0 in the championship game. The Royals finished the regular season at 4-7 overall.
The Bruins earned the #1 seed for the national tournament thanks to an impressive 2020 season. The Bruins were undefeated in region play throughout the regular season before recording back to back shutouts over Toccoa Falls College and Trinity Baptist College to capture their first NCCAA DII South Region Championship in program history.
The match between the Bruins and Royals will be the sixth in the history between these two programs with the Bruins winning all five previous matchups. Kickoff for the match is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
