It's regional tournament time for the Bruins men's soccer team as they compete this weekend in the NCCAA DII South Regional Tournament in Pensacola, Florida. The tournament will be hosted by Pensacola Christian College.
The Bruins finished the regular season at 6-2-1 and secured the #1 seed for the regional tournament. This week, the Bruins also garnered the #1 power rating from the NCCAA in the national rankings.
On Friday, the Bruins will face #4 Toccoa Falls College in the region semifinal with the winner advancing to the region championship on Saturday. The Bruins and Screaming Eagles met to begin the 2020 regular season with the Bruins charging ahead with five goals in the first half before shutting out TFC 9-0. Gasheed Lareche led the Bruins with a hat trick in the win.
The two teams were scheduled to play last week in Georgia, but the match was canceled due to weather. In their history, the Bruins have never lost to Toccoa Falls College in their previous eleven matchups.
