The Bruins men's basketball team will tip-off the 2020-21 season on Saturday night as they welcome Piedmont College to the Davis Field House. The Bruins come in to the season after finishing 14-13 last season. The Bruins saw their streak of three-straight NCCAA DII National Tournament appearances come to an end as the team fell short to Johnson University (FL) in the DII South Region Championship.
Piedmont College finished the 2019-20 season at 14-12 overall before falling short in the quarterfinals of the USA South Championship Tournament to Huntingdon College. This will be the third matchup in the history between these two programs with the Lions winning both previous matchups over the Bruins.
The Bruins graduated four seniors from last year's team including All-Americans Nate Ellenwood and Jayson Barnhart. Still, the Bruins return a core group of players as well as a talented freshmen class as they look to once again contend for the NCCAA DII South Region title this year.
Tip-off for the home opener will be at 5 p.m. in Greenville, South Carolina.
