The Bruins are headed back to the NCCAA DII South Region Championship after the team turned in a dominant performance on Thursday night with a 7-0 shutout of #4 Toccoa Falls College in the region semifinal. The Bruins scored three goals in the first half and never looked back as they advanced to the region championship for the second straight season.

Last season, the team came up just short as they fell to Pensacola 1-0 after a late goal by the Eagles in the second half. In program history, the men's soccer team has never won a region championship. The Bruins won the NCCAA DII National Championship in 2016 after earning an at-large bid to the tournament. Saturday's championship presents an opportunity for the Bruins to capture their first region title.

The Bruins will meet #3 Trinity Baptist College who upset #2 Pensacola Christian College on Thursday in PK's. After trailing 2-0 in the match, the Eagles came roaring back in the second half to tie the game and force overtime. After two extra time periods, TBC keeper Trey Nieves made three saves in the PK-round to help Trinity win 3-2 in the shootout.

The Bruins have faced Trinity Baptist twice this season and won both matchups. After shutting out the Eagles 6-0 on September 26 at Alumni Stadium, the two teams battled in a late-season showdown as the Bruins edged TBC 2-0 on October 24.

Kickoff for the region championship will be at 2 p.m. (EST) in Pensacola, Florida.
