Bruins Extend Winning Streak to 12 Games with Dominant 6-0 Victory Over Toccoa Falls

The winning ways continue for the women's soccer team as the Bruins shutout Toccoa Falls College 6-0 Wednesday night. The Bruins have now won 12 consecutive matches and improve their season record to 13-1 overall.

The Screaming Eagles came off of back to back wins against Trinity Baptist College and played hard to the end, but they ultimately couldn't hold off the Bruins attack.

"The team did an awesome job controlling the tempo of the game as well as all parts of the match," said Head Coach Chris Carmichael. "The high possession rate opened things up to create a lot of goal scoring opportunities. The work rate was very good, and I'm very proud of the team."

Four different Bruins players found the back of the net tonight.  Kayla Stevenson opened up the floodgates for the Bruins off of an assist from Jasmine Kohlwaies. The Bruins would double their lead in the first half as Gabriela Gonzalez would send the ball to Abby Herr who tallied the second goal of the night and her first goal of the season.

Four second half goals would ultimately result in a 6-0 win for the Bruins. Leading goal scorer for the Bruins, Mia Marks scored her 13th goal of the season thanks to the assist from Anna Grace Abrams to kick off the second half of the game. Kayle Stevenson would go on to score her second goal of the match with goals five and six being tallied by Anna Grace Abrams. Carolina Hartzler was instrumental in the last three goals as she assisted Stevenson and Abrams in their goal-scoring efforts.

The Bruins would go on to outshoot the Screaming Eagles 34 to 3.

"We came out strong against Toccoa fighting hard on both sides of the ball," said Forward Abby Herr. "Our team demonstrated a fantastic performance with good chemistry and hard work from everyone on the field. I'm so proud of our team and all that we have accomplished together this season."

Next up, the Bruins travel down to Florida to face NCAA DII opponent, Edward Waters University on Friday night.
