Buccaneers Defeat Bruins on the Road

The Bruins faced another tough Division I opponent as they went on the road to take on Charleston Southern University Saturday afternoon. In the first meetings between the two schools, the Bruins fell 63-119 to the Buccaneers.

"Despite falling to Charleston Southern this afternoon, I was glad to see a drop in our turnovers," said Head Coach Burton Uwarow. "We are looking forward to our next game at home against Brevard College."

The Bruins came into this game after narrowly falling to Montreat College at home on Thursday. From the start of the game, Charleston Southern would go on a 25 point run before the Bruins were able to get on the board before Henry Blair would go for 3 with an assist by Daniel Fuller. Fuller would go and get another 3 points for the Bruins right after. Shortly after a steal by Elijah Cupples would give Henry Blair a chance to get two more points. The Bruins would see several nice plays throughout the first half, but the first half ended with the Buccaneers leading 63-27.

Trailing at the half, the Bruins would look to close the gap in the second half. The men's team would go on to score 36 points in the second half, but were unable to catch up to their opponent and ultimately fell 63-119.

Henry Blair lead the team today with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Devin Dean was next in line with 13 points.

Next up, the Bruins take on Brevard College at home on November 30.
