The Bruins will compete in the NCCAA DII South Regional Tournament this weekend at Toccoa Falls College in Toccoa Falls, Georgia. The Bruins are seeded #3 overall in the tournament and will play against #6 seeded Southeastern Baptist College on Thursday in the quarterfinal.
The Bruins come into the game at 4-8 overall after falling to Johnson University (TN) 92-82 in their regular season finale on Saturday. Devin Dean led the Bruins with 19 points and 11 rebounds while Hayes Brush finished with another double-double on the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The SBC Chargers come into the regional tournament at 2-8 overall, but ended the regular season with a 106-73 win over Appalachian Bible College on February 18. Seven players scored in double figures for the Chargers with Jacobi York leading the way with 19 points and 13 rebounds in the win.
The Bruins and Chargers have met only once before in their history with the Bruins winning 94-59 in last season's regional semifinal. In that game, the Bruins finished with five players scoring in double figures as the team advanced to their fourth straight region championship.
Tip-off for Thursday's game is set for 3 p.m. in Toccoa, Georgia. No fans are permitted to attend the event due to TFC COVID protocols.
