Coming off back to back wins, the Bruins will be on the road on Saturday as the team faces Johnson University (TN) in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Bruins will be in for a difficult test as they face the Royals who are ranked #2 overall in the most recent NCCAA DII rankings.

The Royals enter Saturday's game at 8-6 overall. Their most recent game came on Tuesday night as they fell to Alice Lloyd College 77-70 snapping a seven-game winning streak for the Royals. Johnson has been prolific offensively this season with five players averaging in double-digits in points per game. The team is led by senior guard Coby Jones who has been averaging 17.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game while shooting 49% from the field. 

The Bruins have been playing well as of late with the team coming off a win over Carolina Christian on January 29 in which six players scored in double-figures in a 78-67 win. The team then had seven players in double-figures on Monday in a tough win over region rival Toccoa Falls College in Toccoa, Georgia. On the season, the Bruins are 3-5 but remain unbeaten in region play at 2-0. 

Sophomore guard Devin Dean has been leading the Bruins scoring 14.3 points per game while shooting 45% from the field. Four players are averaging double-digits per game in scoring for the Bruins this season. 

This will be the ninth meeting between the two programs in their history with the Bruins owning a 5-3 record against the Royals. Last season, the Bruins fell in both matchups against the Royals including a 84-81 loss in Knoxville on November 2. 

The Bruins will look to push their winning streak to three in a row as they take the court on Saturday with a tip-off time scheduled for 2 p.m.
