Up against a tough opponent and looking to keep their winning streak alive, the men's soccer team travels over to Spartanburg, South Carolina to face Converse University Saturday night.
Coming into the weekend, the men's soccer team sits on a nine game win streak seeing a 9-3-1 season record. Seven of the last nine wins for the Bruins have come as clean sheets with only two goals allowed during that time. Leading the Bruins in goals is Rylan Boldt with nine and Mario Figueroa with seven. In their 4-0 win against Trinity Baptist College last Saturday, Mario recorded a brace while Rylan also got on the score sheet.
The Valkyries enter Saturday's game with an impressive 10-1-4 season record. Their last win came against Erskine College on October 11 where they played to a 4-1 victory. They then went on to play to a 2-2 draw against University of Mount Olive and a 3-3 draw against Francis Marion University on Wednesday.
Saturday's match will mark just the second meeting between the two teams. Last season, Converse University blanked the Bruins and came away with the 4-0 win.
