The Bruins open region play this weekend as the team plays back to back games against Southeastern Baptist College in Laurel, Mississippi. The Bruins come into the matchups at 1-0 on the season having defeated Brevard College in their season opener on November 10.
The Bruins were led by the one-two punch of Henry Blair and Stephan Hugley as the pair combined to score 51 points in the win. Hugley's double-double of 27 points and 11 rebounds helped the team pick up the road win as four players finished in double-figures in scoring for the team.
Southeastern comes into the weekend at 1-8 on the season. After winning their opening game over Trinity College (FL), the Chargers have dropped eight straight including a loss to William Carey University on Monday.
This will be the sixth meeting between the two programs with the Bruins owning a 4-1 record against the Chargers. Last season, the Bruins won all three contests against the Chargers including defeating SBC 83-71 in the quarterfinals of last year's NCCAA DII South Region Tournament in Jacksonville, Florida.
The Bruins will battle the Chargers on Friday night with a 7 p.m. tip-off set. On Saturday, the two teams will be back in action with a 12 p.m. tip-off scheduled in Laurel, Mississippi.
