Men's Soccer Kick off Preseason with Promising Start at USC Union

The Bob Jones University men's soccer team kicked off their 2022 season Tuesday afternoon as the team competed against USC Union in Union, South Carolina. The Bruins came away with a 1-0 victory in the scrimmage.

"I am really proud of the team with how they performed today," said Head Coach Greg Fulton. "Preseason is all about learning each other and becoming one unit, and I thought we saw some really important relationships forming on the field."

Preseason officially began last Thursday for the men's soccer team where a big recruit class got their first look at playing with a core group of returning players.

"Ultimately, we rotate heavily and it was really exciting to see the level our newcomers are bringing to an already strong returning group," said Fulton. "We have much to improve on but overall it was a great first step as we build towards the regular season."

Together, the team will look to defend their 2021 regional and national title. The men's team finished last season 17-2-2, their best in program history.

Next up, the Bruins will travel to Greensboro, North Carolina to face Guilford College on August 27 before playing Atlantis University on August 30 to round out preseason play. The Bruins will then take their talents to Raleigh, North Carolina on September 2 where they will kick off the 2022 regular season against Shaw University.
