Bruins Fall to Atlantis University as Team Completes Preseason Play

In their final match of preseason play, the Bob Jones University Bruins men's soccer team fell 1-0 to Atlantis University at Alumni Stadium in Greenville, South Carolina.

"I am proud of the team and the way they competed this evening," said Bruins Head Coach Greg Fulton. "We are very early in the process and my message to the team has been one of patience. We have a great team, and we are still figuring out who can do what for us this year."

Tonight was the first meeting between Bob Jones and Atlantis University and it was a hard fought battle from the whistle. The score remained deadlocked until the final 10 minutes of the game when Atlantis University scored to give them the 1-0 advantage. The Bruins battled back, but were unable to level the score.

"Ultimately we are yet to have all our players available at the same time and we are excited for when we are at full strength. We now start our regular season and will take each game one at a time. We have work to do and the guys are ready to do it!"

Bob Jones ends the preseason 1-2. The Bruins look to defend their national and regional championships as the regular season gets underway on Friday, September 2 in Raleigh, North Carolina against Shaw University. This will be the first meeting between the two soccer programs as the game gets underway at 4 p.m.
