The men's soccer team welcomes Guilford College to Alumni Stadium for a 6 p.m. matchup on Tuesday. The Bruins look to bounce back after a tough 2-1 loss to William Peace University on Saturday.
Malachi Ray-Tharpe tallied the lone goal for the Bruins, but several mistakes in the second half gave way to two goals by the Pacers who took the lead and snapped the Bruins five game winning streak.
Following Saturday's match, Head Coach Greg Fulton said, "we will focus forward and learn from our mistakes. These are great tests for us as we prepare for several more tough tests these next two weeks."
This season, the Bruins have averaged 14.4 shots per game to score 26 on the year and only giving up 13 through nine games played.
After two losses to Randolph College and Eastern Mennonite University last week, Guilford College travels to Greenville, South Carolina with a 2-7-1 season record. The Quakers have only scored eight goals this season while allowing 24.
On September 6, 2019, the Bruins and Quakers met for the first time where the Bruins fell in a 2-1 decision. In that match, former Bruin and current assistant coach Micah Kline scored to give the Bruins the lead before Guilford College rallied late to take the win.
Tuesday's game marks the second meeting between the two programs. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. from Alumni Stadium in Greenville, South Carolina.
