The Bruins are back at Alumni Stadium Tuesday night as they host Converse University.
The Bruins come into the new week 7-3-1 on the year after a big 5-1 Homecoming victory over Emory & Henry College on Saturday. In Saturday's contest Charly Gualajara led the team with two goals and an assist. After the game, Coach Greg Fulton said that the Homecoming win was a great game as his team was able to put away chances and rotate through players ahead of a tough week ahead.
Converse University makes the trip from Spartanburg to Greenville with a 6-3-1 season record. On Saturday, the Valkyries scored the game-winner in the 75th minute to secure a 1-0 win over Lees-McRae College. Throughout 10 games his season, they have tallied 18 goals while only seeing nine goals allowed.
The Bruins and Valkyries have met twice over the past two years with Converse University taking both wins. Last season, the Valkyries scored 18 minutes into the match to give them the 1-0 advantage. The Bruins battled for an equalizing goal, but after 90 minutes of play fell short. BJU has yet to score against Converse but hopes to end that drought tomorrow.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Alumni Stadium.
