The Bruins are on the road this weekend for another South region matchup as the team heads to Pensacola, Florida, for a matchup with rival Pensacola Christian College. The Bruins come into the game having dropped three straight as the team sits at 8-10 on the season and 3-4 in South region play.
On Thursday, the Bruins suffered another tough loss as Toccoa Falls College pulled away late to defeat BJU 85-76 in Toccoa, Georgia. The Bruins had four players score in double figures but the team came up short in that road loss.
Saturday's matchup against PCC will be the second this season between the Bruins and Eagles. The two teams met last Saturday in Greenville as the Eagles snapped the Bruins 8-game winning streak against PCC with a 64-56 win. The win for PCC marked the first since the 2016-17 season and the first in the Davis Field House since 2015.
Pensacola has been red hot of late as the team has won four straight and six of their last seven games. The Eagles are currently 4-2 in South region play and with the regular season coming to a close in the coming weeks, each region matchup becomes that much more important. The Bruins will be looking to bounce back on Saturday's South region showdown.
The matchup this weekend will be the 18th matchup in this rivalry with the Bruins posting a 10-7 record against PCC. Tip-off for the game is set for 8:30 p.m. (EST) at the Arlin R. Horton Sports Center in Pensacola, Florida.
