After capturing both the NCCAA south regional championship and Division II national championship titles last season, the men's soccer team looks to start the 2023 regular season on a high note as they travel to North Carolina to face Brevard College in their season opener Friday night.
The Bruins come into the weekend after two preseason contests. On August 22, the Bruins pulled out the 5-1 win over Spartanburg Methodist College before falling to North Greenville University last Saturday.
Last year, the Bruins and Tornados met at Legacy Early College in Greenville, South Carolina for the men's soccer team's home opener. As the Bruins saw several good moments throughout that game, they were unable to find the back of the net resulting in a 2-0 loss against Brevard. This marked the second meeting as well as the second loss to the North Carolina school.
Kickoff for Friday's game is a 7 p.m. form Ives-Lemel Family Field in Brevard, North Carolina.
