The Bob Jones University Bruins host their fifth straight home game Friday night as they welcome Southeastern Baptist College to the Davis Field House for an 8 p.m. contest.
The men's basketball team has come together to improve to a 9-3 season record. On Tuesday, the Bruins battled to a 97-64 NCCAA South Region win over Carolina Christian College to remain undefeated in region play. Including two exhibition games, the Bruins have worked to win eight straight games.
Southeastern Baptist travels from Laurel, Mississippi with a 3-13 season record. The Chargers enter the weekend on a six game losing slide with their last win coming in a 46-44 win over Pensacola Christian College on December 5. The three Chargers wins this season all come against NCCAA South Region teams as they have beat Trinity College of Florida, Trinity Baptist College, and Pensacola Christian College.
Last season, the Bruins and Chargers met twice in Mississippi. In their first game, the Chargers made a few key baskets in the final minutes of the game to narrowly take the game 82-80. The Bruins bounced back the next day as the team battled back to beat Southeastern Baptist 79-71.
When speaking of Southeastern Baptist, Coach Uwarow said "we know how dangerous they are, and they've had a good amount of rest."
Friday's game will be the eighth meeting between the two schools with Bob Jones holding the 5-2 series record.
Tip-off for Friday's game is scheduled for 8 p.m.
