After winning the South Region Championship, the Bruins now have a chance to win the NCCAA National Championship in Kissimmee, Florida, which would be their third national title in four years. They enter the tournament as the #1 overall seed.
To have a chance to play in the final match on November 23, they must first win their pool where they must face three opponents. For pool play, a win gives a team three points, a draw is one point, and a loss is zero points. The team with the most points in the pool after the three matches plays in the national championship.
The Bruins first play against Randall University, a team they have beaten the two previous times at the national tournament. In 2022, the Bruins won 2-0 in a wild match in which Randall was given 4 red cards in just a few minutes making them finish the final 15 minutes of the match with seven players. Randall University won the southwest region on their way to give them a tournament bid.
On Tuesday, November 19, the Bruins play Kansas Christian College for the second match of pool play. The only matchup in history between the Bruins and Falcons came back in the 2017 national tournament that Bob Jones University hosted. This match resulted in the Bruins upsetting the one-seed Falcons team 3-1.Â
Finally, on November 21, the Bruins finish pool play against the Grace Christian University Tigers. Good memories flood the Bruins minds about the last time they played the Tigers. That's because the last and only time the Bruins have played them was the national championship in which the Bruins won two years ago. The match was tense and knotted at 0-0 until the Bruins put away a game-winner in the 85th minute.
If the Bruins win the pool, they will play for the national championship on Saturday, November 23 at 3:00 p.m.
