The regular season comes to an end this weekend as the men's basketball team travels to Toccoa Falls, Georgia for a NCCAA South Region showdown against Toccoa Falls College on Saturday.
It's been a record breaking season for the Bruins. They enter the weekend 16-4 following a 90-71 home finale against Warren Wilson College on Monday. For the first time in program history, the men's basketball team wrapped up the season undefeated at home through 12 games played.
"We never set out to go undefeated at home and to have this incredible season. We set out to be consistent every day and give God the glory," said Head Coach Burton Uwarow.
The Bruins look to improve on their 9-1 conference record on Saturday against the Screaming Eagles. Toccoa Falls College comes into their regular season finale 11-11 on the year and 6-3 against NCCAA South Region teams.
Since 2012, the Bruins and Screaming Eagles have faced off against each other 23 times with the Bruins holding the 17-6 series record. The two programs met earlier this season on January 16 in the Davis Field House where the Bruins pulled ahead to a 97-79 victory.
Going into the weekend, Assistant Coach Tony Miller said, "road wins are important and road games are important for building what you want for the post season. Saturday will be tough, but it's another opportunity for us to build another block for the post season."
Tip-off for Saturday's contest is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
