In a tough contest on the road, the Bob Jones University men's basketball team fell in a 64-58 decision to NCCAA South Region opponent Southeastern Baptist College Thursday night in Laurel, Mississippi. With today's result, the Bruins now sit at 8-1 in conference play and 14-4 overall
The Bruins entered Thursday's game knowing it was bound to be a tough contest. Despite the Chargers holding a 4-15 record on the year, the team sits 4-2 in conference play with the only two region losses for Southeastern coming in back-to-back games against the Bruins on January 26 and Toccoa Falls College.
BJU battled to keep in close but at halftime saw themselves trailing 31-23. After the break, the Bruins fought to close the gap. With 8:20 left on the game, clock they evened the score before taking the lead. Southeastern regained the lead and held on in the final minutes to take the game 64-58.
Up next, the Bruins travel to Pensacola Christian College for a Saturday afternoon region contest.
