The energy going into this weekend is so high as the Bruins host south region rivals Pensacola Christian College on Friday night followed by a Saturday afternoon game against Warren Wilson College.
The Bruins are coming into this weekend with a 3-4 record with their last official game being on December 10 where they took a loss to the Columbia College Koalas at home in a tight game. Since then, the Bruins have played in three exhibitions against high-talent rosters and have gained a lot of confidence going into conference play.
Friday night is the game that is circled the most on the calendar as the Bruins host NCCAA South Region opponent Pensacola Christian College Eagles at the Davis Field House in what will be a raucous environment. Tipoff will be at 7:00 p.m. following the women's game which is at 5:00 p.m. The Bruins lead the all-time series 13-8 winning each of the last three matchups all last season. Last time the Eagles came to Greenville, Kenney Garrick Jr. hit a game-winner for the Bruins with less than five seconds remaining. The Bruins look to extend their winning streak against PCC to four games tomorrow night.
Fans are encouraged to show up to the Davis Field House for the women's game at 5:00 p.m., wear black as it is a blackout theme night, and cheer for the Bruins all night long.
Following the big night is a big afternoon. The Bruins will take on the Warren Wilson College Owls at 3:00 p.m. following the women's game at 1:00 p.m. The Bruins lead the all-time series 11-7 winning the last three games in this matchup as well. When the Owls came to the Davis Field House last season, the Bruins took a 90-71 win in which Shad Vander Hart scored 16 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.
The Bruins have two big chances for two wins that will propel their season in the right direction.
