A No-Goal Draw in Toccoa Falls

Box Score Even after countless shots and chances for the Bruins offense, the match ended in a 0-0 draw against the Toccoa Falls College Screaming Eagles. This marks the first non-win result against Toccoa Falls in Bruins history.

As the first half started, the Bruins were in attack-mode instantly and found a few early corner kicks and shots on goal. The Screaming Eagles defense could only hope for saves by the goalkeeper or clearable balls, and they got both. While Toccoa Falls got a couple chances for themselves, most of the half was dominated by the Bruins offense. No goals were scored, but many thought they would find one or more in the second half.

The second half, however, was nearly the same as the first half. It seemed as if there was a force-field around the goal against the Bruins offense. The Screaming Eagles had a few more offensive chances than the first half, but the Bruins defense held strong and alleviated the threats. In the 84th minute, the Bruins won a free-kick in the shooting zone of Bucky Provenzano where he ripped one on goal but was saved by the goalkeeper. He got an immediate rebound shot and put it back on, but the goalkeeper got his finger tips on it again. Time fizzled out and the match ended in a 0-0 draw.

Though this wasn't quite the result the Bruins were looking for, they will still most likely be the first seed at the upcoming region tournament hosted at Alumni Stadium. Before then, though, the Bruins have one more regular season game at home against Catawba College this coming Tuesday, November 28 at 7 p.m.
