The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) has named six Bob Jones University Bruins cross country runners as Scholar-Athletes for the 2025 fall season. The recognition is given to student-athletes who maintain at least a 3.40 GPA and are a junior, senior or graduate student.
"This team balances sports and classroom so well and excels in both," Head Coach Ken Roach said. "This is proof that cross country athletes run the race of life with heart and discipline in all their pursuits. I am beyond proud and excited for their futures."
Three scholar-athletes are represented on each the women's and men's teams. For the women's team, Biology major Lauren Jones, Nursing major Kristen Dodds, and English Education major Cora Gagne were all recognized for being excellent student-athletes. This is the second time that Jones has been given this recognition and the first time for Dodds and Gagne.
On the men's team, Communication Disorders major Levi Gerbitz, Multimedia Journalism major Daniel Kyle, and Public Accounting major Luke VanDenBerghe were recognized as well. This is Gerbitz's second time being named a scholar-athlete as well.
BJU is a NCCAA DII member featuring 13 varsity programs and over 200 student-athletes.
