Bruins Athletics Announces 2025 Hall of Fame Class

The Bob Jones University Hall of Fame committee has announced one contributor, two coaches, and three teams as the 2025 inductees into the school's athletics Hall of Fame.

This year, the program will honor former Sports Information Director and Assistant Athletic Director Jonny Gamet, women's soccer coach Dr. Chris Carmichael, women's basketball coach Mike LeViere, as well as the original Bruins men's and women's cross country teams and the inaugural men's golf team.

Jonny Gamet – Sports Information Director and Assistant Athletic Director
Jonny Gamet worked with BJU Athletics from its inception in 2012 through February 2023. During his time as the Sports Information Director and later in his role as the Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing and Communications, he was instrumental in telling the story of Bruins Athletics through game recaps, player and coaches interviews, livestream broadcasts, and other avenues. In addition to his communication coverage, he led the Bruins marketing and sponsorship efforts and oversaw the development and expansion of Bruins summer camps. In 2021, Gamet was honored with the NCCAA Game Plan 4 Life Award for Division II.

Chis Carmichael – Women's Soccer Coach
Dr. Chris Carmichael has led the women's soccer team since its inaugural season in 2012. In his 13 years at the helm, he has an impressive 167-83-16 record leading his team to seven NCCAA DII South Region Championship titles and seven national titles. Throughout his time at Bob Jones, Carmichael has been named the NCCAA DII South Region Coach of the Year four times and has earned the National Coach of the Year honor seven times.

Mike LeViere – Women's Basketball Coach
Head women's basketball coach, Mike LeViere is one of just two coaches in Bruins history who have led their team since the inaugural season of Bruins athletics. Throughout his 13 seasons of coaching at BJU, he has led his team to 175 victories, three NCCAA DII South Region Championships, and five national championship appearances.

Inaugural Men's Golf Team – 2013-14
Head Coach Dennis Scott brought in six men to begin the Bruins golf program in 2013. They began competition in September of that year at the Piedmont College invitational in Demorest, Georgia. On September 20, 2013, the team made history as they won their first ever tournament at the Hiwassee College Invitational. The team went on to compete at five more tournaments in the fall. Since then, the golf team has continued to grow and improve with multiple Game Plan 4 Life recipients, All-Americans, and seven appearances at the NCCAA National Tournament.
Inaugural Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams - 2013
After an introductory meeting in the Spring of 2012, cross country coach Landon Bright and his wife Katie added 16 men and 17 women to the inaugural cross country teams. The teams make their program debut on September 14, 2013 in the Furman Classic Cross Country meet at Furman University. The teams continued to perform well in their inaugural season and concluded their first season at the NCCAA National Championships in Cedarville, Ohio. Aaron Iles on the men's team became the first All-American in Bruins history as he finished 9th overall on the national stage. Since then, the men's cross country team has finished on top with nine straight national championships with the women's team earning four national titles.
