The Bruins couldn't take advantage of the offensive chances against the Wildcats and lose 1-0 on the road to end the regular season.
This was a match truly controlled by the Bruins the whole way, but they couldn't find clean shots on goal. One of the three total shots on goal for the Bruins came inside the first 10 minutes when Jackson Reinhard was able to get one on frame but it was saved by the goalkeeper. The Wildcats goal came in the 14th minute after a slight defensive slip up left Bruins goalkeeper Luke Provenzano in a tough situation. That was the only chance the Bruins gave the Wildcats all half, and really, all game. The Bruins had three corner kicks in the first half and couldn't convert. The halftime score was 1-0.
The Bruins held possession for the majority of the half and made plenty of runs up the field, but struggled to connect in and around the box. Even though they fired six shots in the half, only two of them were on net. The Bruins finished the match with more shots, more corner kicks, and more possession but could not make any of it count on the scoreboard. Their final play of desperation came as the clock was ticking down on a free kick near midfield, and no one was able to get a shot away. The match resulted in a 1-0 loss for the Bruins.
The Bruins now wait for the region tournament seeding to see who their opponent in the first round of the region tournament is. The expectation is for the Bruins to have the top seed, but further news of that will come in the next week.Â
