Lauren Leidy

  • Title
Assistant Coach - Cross Country | Track & Field
Lauren Leidy began a lifelong love of running at the age of 10. Competing in distance events throughout junior and senior high school, she qualified for and participated in the Pennsylvania statewide championship meet and was offered scholarships to run during college. Her family and educational pursuits led her in a different direction. When her children became interested in joining the Carolina Homeschool running teams, she jumped into a coaching position and immediately became passionate about the sport in a new capacity.

At Spartanburg Methodist College, Coach Leidy assisted the teams qualifying for multiple appearances at NJCAA Nationals. As Interim Head Coach in 2020 and despite a challenging season, she led the XC and HM teams to Nationals and was named Region X Coach of the Year. She is USATF Level I Certified and coaches in a local youth running league.

Besides training athletes, Coach Leidy enjoys encouraging and mentoring young people as they mature in their faith and reach academic and life goals.

Lauren and her husband Jay are blessed with 10 children and a growing number of grandchildren. They are active in the student ministry at their church and are often planning another outdoor adventure.
