To say the Bruins women soccer team has been dominant on the road this past month would be a vast understatement. In the past few weeks, the Bruins have played six away games, tying just once and easily beating the other five teams. Tomorrow they head out again to play the Johnson University Tennessee Royals in Knoxville, Tenn., at 4 p.m.
Goalkeeper Tori Anderson has been shutting down teams, allowing only one goal in the past seven games and most recently holding the Bruins through a 0-0 draw with the Clearwater Cougars. On offense, several players have been racking up goals and assists. Forwards Lauren Peek and Spencer Martin top the charts for most goals, having five goals this season. Overall the Bruins have been able to control the speed of play and capitalize on goal shot opportunities. They now hold the #4 spot in the NCCAA Top 10 rankings.
The Royals have been struggling this season, losing quite a few games this season. On Tuesday night, the Bryan College Lions beat the Royals 6-1 and before that, the Ohio Christian College Trailblazers solidly beat them 4-0.
