The Lady Bruins volleyball team has had an impressive debut in their inaugural season as the team has gone 23-10 including an undefeated 11-0 record in region play. The team's success has earned them the #1 seed for the NCCAA DII South Region Playoffs which will be held in Pensacola, Florida this weekend. Six teams will compete for the region crown with the tournament seeding as follows:
#1 - Bob Jones University
#2 - Trinity College of Florida
#3 - Toccoa Falls College
#4 - Pensacola Christian College
#5 - Johnson University of Florida
#6 - Trinity Baptist College
The tournament will consist of two days of competition. On Friday, the six teams will compete in pool play matches. The Bruins will be in Pool A with Pensacola Christian College and Johnson University of Florida. Pool B will consist of Toccoa Falls College, Trinity College of Florida and Trinity Baptist College. The teams will then be re-seeded on Saturday in a single elimination tournament leading up to the region championship match at 2:30 p.m.
Pensacola Christian College serves as the host of the regional tournament this year, with matches being played in the
Sports Center Arena on campus. On Friday, the #1 seeded Bruins will matchup against #5 seeded Johnson University of Florida at 3 p.m. and #4 seeded Pensacola Christian College at 7 p.m.
