For the first time in Bruins history, the road to the NCCAA DI National Tournament for the South Region will go through Greenville, South Carolina. The Bruins finished the regular season at 15-15 and secured the #3 seed for the Regional Tournament. Emmanuel College captured the top seed while Carver College grabbed the #2 seed and Columbia International University was named the #4 seed.
"A chance at the National Tournament awaits the winner of regionals," Coach Neal Ring said. "It gives us a chance to play at home one last weekend and experience home court advantage in a win or stay home setting. I would rather take that shot in front of our home fans than anywhere else!"
The Bruins will battle #2 seeded Carver College on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. In the first round of regionals in 2013, the Cougars knocked the Bruins out of the playoffs. This year, the Bruins are looking to take the next step and hope to challenge for a region title.
"Carver will test our ability to guard the ball and rebound on the defensive end," Coach Ring said. "They have excellent size and guys that can attack the rim off the dribble. We will need to keep the lane full of Bruins and the gaps tight! We'll need to execute with precision and take care of the ball."
Because the regional playoff is an NCCAA hosted event, each fan will be charged admission for the tournament. General admission is $3 and student tickets are $2. Children 12 and under will be admitted free of charge. Purchase your tickets online at
