Lady Bruins Set to Begin Region Playoffs

After falling short in the region title last year, team is looking to challenge for regional title in 2016

Last season, the Lady Bruins walked off the court after coming up short in a 70-60 loss to Southern Wesleyan University. The Bruins took the sting of that loss and used it as motivation for this season as the team stormed through to finish 19-11, including winning 11 of their last 13 games to close out the regular season.

"We've been in some really close games against some quality opponents all year so we have that experience to draw from," Coach Mike LeViere said. "We have a great mix of youthful exuberance and senior leadership. As with other games this season, we have to approach it the same as we always do and work hard at doing our best at the things we can control and don't worry about the things we can't control. The results will take care of themselves. I am sure our effort is going to be there. Our team knows what's at stake."

The NCCAA DI South Regional seeding has been announced, and the Lady Bruins earned the #3 seed in the region and will battle #2 seeded Point University on Friday night. The regional tournament will be hosted at Point University in West Point, Georgia. The Bruins and Skyhawks met earlier in the season, with the Skyhawks narrowly defeating BJU 69-66.
