The Lady Bruins volleyball team will play their season opener on Friday night as they welcome region-rival Toccoa Falls College to the Davis Field House. The Bruins enter the season as the two-time defending NCCAA DII National champion and begin just their fifth season as an intercollegiate program.
The Bruins finished the season at 35-4 last year and met the Screaming Eagles twice over the course of the 2019 season. In both matches, the Bruins swept TFC in straight sets but the match down in Toccoa Falls, Georgia was close with the Bruins winning 25-19, 25-23, and 25-17. The Bruins then went on to win their fourth straight NCCAA DII South Region Championship before winning their second straight national title.
In their history, the Bruins are a perfect 11-0 against Toccoa Falls College including sweeping the Screaming Eagles the last three matches. The Bruins are coming off their lone preseason exhibition in which they played an intrasquad scrimmage last Friday night.
The home opener is set to tip-off at 7 p.m. on Friday night in Greenville, South Carolina.
