The Lady Bruins are back in action on Thursday afternoon as they face Middle Georgia State University in Cochran, Georgia. This is the first-ever meeting between the two programs with kickoff scheduled for 3 p.m. The two teams were originally scheduled to play last week, but effects of the hurricane postponed the match.
The Bruins come into the game at 1-1 overall after dropping their season-opener to USC Beaufort 2-1. The Bruins responded well as they shutout Toccoa Falls College 3-0 in their home opener. It's been nearly two weeks since the team has been on the pitch simply because of the weather delays.
Thursday's match will be the season opener for MGSU. Last season, the Knights finished 12-7-1 overall and 5-3-1 in conference play. The team qualified for the SSAC tournament where they won in the quarterfinals before falling to #2 William Carey 3-1. The Knights then went on to fall in the opening round of the NAIA tournament to end their season.
The Bruins and Knights will get underway at 3 p.m. on Thursday in Cochran, Georgia.
