The Lady Bruins basketball team will begin regular season play on Saturday as the team faces Covenant College (NCAA DIII) in Lookout Mountain, Georgia. The Bruins played a lone exhibition game against Montreat College during the fall semester after the team had to cancel a portion of their season due to several positive cases of COVID-19.
The Bruins will face the Scots on Saturday who come into the game at 0-6 on the season, including a loss to Freed-Hardeman on January 2. This will be the second meeting between the two programs after the Bruins defeated Covenant 56-53 last season. Delaney Edwards led the way for the Bruins with a double-double 14 points and 12 rebounds in the win.
The Bruins will look to start the season strong as they face the Scots on the road before returning for their home opener on Monday night against Carolina Christian College. Tip-off for Saturday's game is scheduled for 3 p.m.
