The Bruins volleyball team will wrap up region play this weekend as the team competes in a tri-match on Saturday afternoon in Pensacola, Florida. The Bruins come into the match at 21-4 on the season having won seven-straight matches. The team is also a perfect 6-0 in region play coming off a 3-0 sweep over Toccoa Falls on Tuesday.
In their first match on Saturday, the Bruins will be paired with Johnson University (FL), who comes into the match at 4-9 on the season. Earlier this season, the Bruins and Suns competed in Lakeland, Florida, with the Bruins winning in straight sets 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-21).
Victoria Glaze led the Bruins with 13 kills and 12 digs in the win while Katelyn Landkrohn finished with 28 digs. In their history, the Bruins have a perfect 12-0 record against the Suns. Saturday's match will get underway at 4 p.m. in Pensacola, Florida.
For the final match of the day, the Bruins will face rival Pensacola Christian College. This will be the third matchup this season between the Eagles and Bruins with BJU winning both earlier matches 3-0.
In their last matchup on October 24, Emma Riddle and Victoria Glaze each notched double-digit kills in a 3-0 sweep in the Davis Field House. This will be the 16th matchup between the two programs with the Bruins owning a 14-1 record against PCC including a perfect 5-0 record in the Arlin R. Horton Sports Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Pensacola as the Bruins and Eagles write the next chapter of their rivalry.
