Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Kaitlyn Unruh

Men's Soccer Dominates in 14-0 Victory

It was another high-scoring game as the Bruins men's soccer team recorded a season-high 14 goals to defeat Mid-Atlantic Christian University Wednesday afternoon in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Over the past two days with back to back games, the Bruins have outscored their opponents 23-0 with 14 different players getting on the score sheet and three players collecting hat tricks.

"I am really proud of the team in another strong performance today," said Head Coach Greg Fulton. "We saw many guys getting on the score sheet for the first time, and it's great to see the energy my boys provided over the 90 minutes."

The Bruins wasted no time with Rylan Boldt scoring the first goal just seven minutes in thanks to an assist from Pedro Silva. Eli Solomon, with an assist from Gasheed Lareche, would double the lead for the Bruins just four minutes later. The Bruins would go on to score five more times in the first half with goals coming from Caleb Felber, Micah Hennegan, Caleb Felber (again), Pedro Silva, and Andrew Arrowood.

Andrew Arrowood kicked off the second half of play with his second goal of the night to bring the Bruins lead to 8-0. Victor Muenapale would net the next goal followed by two consecutive goals from Asher Stevens. With eight minutes remaining, Andrew Arrowood would notch his third goal of the night and Caleb Felber would follow suit three minutes later tallying his third goal of the evening.

Arrowood and Felber both earned their first collegiate hat tricks and Asher Stevens would record his first brace while Rylan Boldt, Pedro Silva and Victor Muenapale would score their first goal as a Bruin. The final score ended with the Bruins winning 14-0.

"Many guys were able to get some much needed playing time and showed just how strong our roster is from top to bottom," said Fulton. "We will look to take this momentum into our next three matches which will undoubtedly be the toughest stretch of games yet this season."

The men's soccer team will travel back to Greenville for their Homecoming match on Saturday, October 9 where they will take on Johnson & Wales University at 7 p.m.
