The Bruins will compete in the NCCAA DII South Regional Tournament this weekend at Toccoa Falls College in Toccoa Falls, Georgia. The Bruins are seeding #3 overall in the tournament and will play against #2 seeded Trinity Baptist College on Friday in the semifinal.
The Bruins enter Friday's matchup at 5-8 after finishing the regular season winning four of their last five games. The Bruins fell to Carolina University on February 20, snapping a four-game winning streak as the team came up short 64-57.
Trinity Baptist enters the region semifinal at 8-6 on the season having won five of their last six games. Earlier this season, the Bruins and Eagles met in Greenville where Trinity Baptist defeated BJU 59-54. This was the first time TBC had defeated BJU since the inaugural 2012-13 season.
The Bruins came back from a first-half deficit, but the Eagles had three players score in double figures and made key baskets down the stretch to come away with the win. Delaney Edwards led the Bruins in the game with 18 points and 5 rebounds.
A trip to the NCCAA DII Region Championship is on the line on Friday afternoon as tip-off between the Bruins and Eagles is set for 1 p.m.
