Bruins Shutout by North Greenville in Second Preseason Match

It was a tough loss as the Bruins fell 3-0 Saturday night to North Greenville University in their second preseason match in as many days.

Coming off a physically intense match the day before, Head Coach Chris Carmichael was pleased with his team in tonight's game.

"I'm very proud of the effort considering we just came off a challenging match last night to then play a very fit, fast and organized North Greenville team," he said. "The team showed great perseverance and made the game respectable but showed we have a lot of work to do."

Despite tonight's loss, Bruins captain Kayle Stevenson is proud of the way the team is looking with only one practice under their belt on Thursday before two challenging preseason matches.

"Our team fought hard this evening," said Stevenson, "and we will take corrections from this game and move forward with it as we can only go up from here."

With two weeks before the start of the regular season, the Bruins will look to regroup and recover from a demanding preseason.

The women open their regular-season campaign on the road on September 3 where they will take on North Carolina Wesleyan College in a 7pm kickoff.
