Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Kaitlyn Unruh

Bruins Come From Behind Twice To Beat Falcons 5-2

The men's soccer team traveled to Misenheimer, North Carolina on Saturday afternoon to take on the Pfeiffer University Falcons during their homecoming weekend. The Bruins would come from behind twice and score three unanswered goals in the second half to get the 5-2 victory. With today's win the Bruins have moved to 6-2-1 on the season.

"This was a character building game. I could tell we were flat from our travels due to experiencing a lot of firsts (early departure, afternoon game, home coming for the opponent, etc.) and it showed early," said Coach Greg Fulton. "I am so proud that even with some really weird goals against us, we stayed together and we responded with class. We had 5 different guys on the score sheet to come from behind twice and then take control. I am so proud of my boys and I can see the growth we are achieving!"

Pfeiffer University would get on the board first in the 8th minute, but the Bruins would respond seven minutes later as Jordan Crews with an assist by Rylan Boldt would send the ball in the bottom right of the goal to even the score.

The Falcons would take the lead again getting the ball past Bruins keeper Chris Monczewski. In the final minute of the first half, Conley Burke would turn and send the ball sailing to level the score at two.

The score would remain deadlocked at two goals a piece until the 70th minute where the floodgates were opened and the Bruins scored three unanswered goals from Peter Waddy (69:51), Mario Figueroa (74:15) and Victor Oladipo (87:11).

The men's soccer team will have a week of recovery before they travel to Florida to take on Pensacola Christian College on October 2.
