Basketball season is upon us, and the women's basketball team kicks off their season against Brevard College in the mountains of Brevard, North Carolina.
The Bruins look for a strong start to the season as they look to battle for another NCCAA DII South Region Championship and their first national title. The team wrapped up the 2021-22 season 12-16 overall and went 4-3 in conference play.
Tuesday's game marks the ninth meeting between the two schools with Brevard owning the 6-2 record. The Bruins picked up their second win in program history against the Tornados last December as the women's basketball team battled to a 66-57 victory in the Davis Field House.
Following an intersquad scrimmage last week, women's basketball coach Mike LeViere said that his most exciting takeaway moving forward "is the depth that I feel we have. We are going to have to continue working on defense, but we know that and are working hard to get better every day."
Tip-off for Tuesday's game is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Brevard, North Carolina.
