The women's soccer team saw their best record in program history last season as they ended the regular season on a 17-game undefeated streak. They look to expand on last year's success as they welcome 16 recruits to the program ahead of the 2022 season.
"We are really excited to integrate our new 2022 recruit class into our upcoming fall season," said Head Coach Chris Carmichael. "This recruit class is loaded with potential and talent and many of them will make an immediate impact to our team's success. Our new 2022 recruits have a very coachable spirit, and we are so excited to have them on our squad. Our captains and returning players will be working hard to integrate our new players into our team, and we are looking forward to celebrating their individual successes."
This talented recruit class joins a solid group of players returning for the Bruins as the team looks to build on last season's success. The following are the 2022 recruits joining the women's soccer program this fall

Reagan Tierney (Palm City, FL)
Reagan Tierney is a holding midfielder from Palm City, Florida where she graduated from Martin County High School. She was a four-year starter on the girls soccer team and was selected as captain her senior year. During her time with the Tigers, the team advanced further than any girls soccer team in school history with two consecutive trips to the regional finals, a region championship, and a trip to the state final four. Reagan also played club soccer with Treasure Coast United / Massive Soccer where she captained the team the last two years. Her soccer talents have given her the opportunity to travel and play with select teams in Finland and in England. Reagan plans to major in Communication Disorders at BJU.
Kaylee Rochon (Mint Hill, NC)
Striker Kaylee Rochon joins the Bruins from Mint Hill, North Carolina. Before moving to North Carolina, Kaylee played for several teams in Pittsburg before relocating to the South where she played for the Charlotte Eagles as well as with her high school team at Carmel Christian School. Her freshman year, she received the Most Improved Player award and earned All-Regional recognition her junior year. Kaylee is very technical, physically strong, and has a strong shot that has helped her to be a leading scorer on her teams. Kaylee plans on studying Sports Management in the fall.
Rylee Marks Johnson (Greenville, SC)
Rylee Johnson joins Bruin Nation and will compete alongside her younger sister Mia Marks this fall. In high school, Rylee captained her Furman United Soccer Club team and Greenville Hurricanes team and was also named MVP on three occasions. For two seasons she played Division II soccer at North Greenville University. Rylee brings a lot of tenacity to the midfield and has an exceptionally high soccer IQ. Rylee will continue her education by majoring in Biblical Counseling.
Emily Walton (Barrigada, Guam)
Midfielder Emily Walton comes to South Carolina from Guam. Emily plays for the U20 Guam and Masakada National Teams while also competing with the Southern Heat Soccer Club. During high school, she played varsity all four years at Harvest Christian Academy where she was the captain. A strong finisher, she has quickness, pace, technique, and will be a good asset to the women's soccer program. While at BJU, Emily plans on studying Health Science (Pre-PA).
Abby Arrowood (Greenville, SC)
The two-year captain of the Bob Jones Academy high school team joins the BJU Bruins this fall. Abby Arrowood was a four-year starter for BJA as a holding midfielder and received SCACS All-tournament Player recognition twice. In addition to her high school experience, Abby played for Furman United Soccer Club, followed by time with the Greenville Hurricanes where she played in offensive positions and as a defensive midfielder, before she settled into Upstate United Soccer Club as a holding midfielder.
Ashlyn Schmidt (Greenville, SC)
Ashlyn Schmidt is a local from Greenville, South Carolina where she has spent time with Furman United Soccer Club, the Greenville Hurricane, Upstate United Soccer Club, and the last three years with her high school team at Bob Jones Academy. After competing at the BJU High School Invitational Soccer Tournament, she was selected to the All-Tournament Team. She received the Golden Boot award this past season as she broke the scoring and assist record for Upstate United Soccer Club. Ashlyn looks to get a degree in Sports Management.
Sylvia Cummings (Burlington, MA)
Joining the Bruins family from Massachusetts, midfielder Sylvia Cummings played club soccer for the Boston Bolts and was on the varsity team at Burlington Public High School where she was awarded as a Middlesex League All-Star two times and was the state All-Star her senior year. Sylvia plans on majoring in Nursing in the fall.
Elli Cummings (Burlington, MA)
Elli Cummings is a midfielder from Massachusets where she competed with the New England Rush and Boston Bolts. She was also a four-year varsity player at Burlington High School where she was given the Middlesex League All-Star Award. A dominant presence in the center of the pitch, Elli is exceptional at connecting with her teammates. She joins her younger sister Sylvia on the team and is pursuing a degree in Exercise Science as she looks to become a personal trainer.
Francesca (Ches) Peters (Grafton, OH)
Francesca (Ches) Peters is a midfielder from Grafton, Ohio where she was the captain of Midview High School's varsity soccer team. She led her team to a DI conference championship. In addition, she also played for Upper 90 FC before transferring to North FC where she played an important role in helping her team win a regional title. They went on to represent the Great Lakes region at nationals. Ches has a lot of pace and is technically strong with a strong shot and will be a challenge for the opposing backs. Once at BJU, she plans on majoring in Accounting.
Maddie Pedder (Raleigh, NC)
Joining the Bruins from North Carolina, striker Maddie Pedder played club soccer at Capital Area Soccer League (CASL) and at the North Carolina Football Club. At the end of her high school career at Faith Christian School, Maddie tallied 54 goals and 38 assists and was team captain. She was named to the North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association All-Conference Team and in the spring of 2022 she was selected to the BJU High School Classic All-Tournament Team after an exceptional performance. Maddie will major in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry.
Kaylee Poore (Greenville, SC)
The local center back was a varsity team starter at Calvary Christian School in 7th and 8th grade where they were undefeated regional champions before she began playing with Bob Jones Academy for her high school career where they won the state championship in 2019, 2021 and 2022. Kaylee earned All-Tournament and MVP honors for BJA her junior year. In addition, she played club soccer for United Soccer Club and later with Upstate United Soccer Club. She plans on studying Pre-med.
Elizabeth Jordan (Lyman, SC)
Another local talent, Elizabeth Jordan is a midfielder and winger who played at Carolina FC, Spartanburg United, and Westgate Christian School where she has developed into a very technical midfielder that has very good pace and field vision. At Westgate, she earned Most Valuable Offensive Player her sophomore and junior seasons. Elizabeth plans to major in Educational Studies with a concentration in Social Services.
Kate Sherf (Greer, SC)
With nine years of experience as a field player and goalkeeper for Cabrini Athletics in Michigan, Kate Sherf moved to South Carolina where she played one season at Hampton Park Christian School. She then played four years at Bob Jones Academy where she was the starting goalkeeper for the Lions.
Sophia Pikett (Terrell, TX)
Sophia Pikett is a midfielder from Terrell, Texas that has been playing for the Kaufman United Soccer Club where she was the captain. Prior to joining Kaufman United, Sophia played for Terrell Soccer Team, Lakepoint Sports, and Upward. Sophia joins Bruin Nation and will major in Kinesiology.
Abby Woo (North Augusta, SC)
Abby Woo is a midfielder from North Augusta, South Carolina where she played for Augusta Eagles Soccer where she served as a captain. Abby comes to Bob Jones with plans on majoring in Kinesiology.
Raegan Reed (Bedford, VA)
Raegan started playing soccer at the age of 5 where she fell in love with the sport and has been playing it ever since. She captained both of her club teams at Smith Mountain Lake Jets Soccer Club and Bedford Soccer Club. During her high school career at Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy she won the Golden Boot Award, Comeback Player of the Year and MVP. She attended the BJU Bruins women's soccer elite camp and was awarded MVP this summer. Raegan will be studying Business while at Bob Jones.

The women's soccer team will begin the
2022 season with two preseason contests against North Greenville University and Furman University before traveling to North Carolina at the beginning of September to start their regular season.
