It's been a successful start for the women's soccer team as they are 3-0 through their first week of the 2022 season. They look to improve on their record as they travel to Greensboro, North Carolina to take on Greensboro College and Guilford College this weekend.
The Bruins come into the weekend following a 5-1 home opener victory against Pfeiffer University on Tuesday. Through three games played this season, the Bruins have scored 14 goals while only allowing three goals in the back of their own net. Anna Grace Abrams, Gabriela Gonzalez, and Kayle Stevenson lead the team with three goals scored apiece.
On Friday, the Bruins will take on Greensboro College for a 4 p.m. matchup at Pride Field. The Pride were shutout 2-0 in their season opener on September 1 to Roanoke College and will play Wednesday evening at home before facing the Bruins on Friday. The last time the Bruins and Pride met was at Alumni Stadium in 2019 where Bob Jones fell 5-1. This will be the third meeting between the two schools with Greensboro College holding the 2-0 record.
It will be a quick turnaround as the Bruins go on to play Guildford College at 11 a.m. Saturday morning. Like the Bruins, the Quakers are also 3-0 heading into the weekend. They enter Saturday's match on a 2-1 victory over William Peace University. This will be the first meeting between the two programs as the game is set to get underway at 11 a.m.
