Box Score
The Bruins went on the road tonight to take care of business against Clinton College. The match would test the Bruins as the Golden Bears played a solid defensive game. Through three straight sets, the Bruins won the match 25-16, 25-22, and 25-15. This was the second time the two teams have met with the Bruins leading the overall matchup 2-0.
"Although we won in straight sets, tonight's win did not come easy. Clinton brought their best game and pushed us in each set," said Head Coach Vickie Denny.
Katherine Hoopes helped the Bruins tonight while both serving and getting kills at the net. Also contributing tonight was Timbre Cruz and Victoria Glaze as they pushed their own offense to more kills. Despite the close sets, the offense looked comfortable throughout the match as Kiersten Hoopes set a good match for the team.
Coach Denny continued, "While we struggled to find the holes, our offense was evenly distributed among our key hitters and we eventually started to score with some kills. Maddie Goldstrom came off the bench to help us with blocking and played a solid 2nd and 3rd set."
Up next, the Bruins will play host for a tri-match set for Thursday, October 12 against Carolina University and Toccoa Falls College. First serve is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
