Bob Jones University women's volleyball coach Dr. Vickie Denny recorded her 1,200th career victory as the Bruins defeated Carolina University 3-1 on October 12 in Greenville, South Carolina. Denny becomes just the sixth coach in collegiate women's volleyball history to reach this milestone.
"When I think of the 1,200 wins, I think of all the many athletes I've been able to coach over the years," said Head Coach Vickie Denny. "They are great women who have gone on to serve the Lord. It has been a blessing and an honor to coach so many fine Christian women during my coaching career. Praise the Lord, and I'm looking for a few more before I'm done."
Head Coach Vickie Denny came to South Carolina after coaching and teaching for over 30 years at Clearwater Christian College and Maranatha Baptist University.
She has led the Bruins volleyball program since its inception in 2016 and throughout her time at Bob Jones University has amassed five NCCAA national championships, six region championships, and two NCCAA South Region Coach of the Year awards.
Additionally, she is an inductee into both the NCCAA and Clearwater Christian College Halls of Fame.
Over the course of the 2023 season, the volleyball program has recorded multiple career milestones and the team has worked together to see a 21-4 record. They look to end the regular season on a high note before hosting the NCCAA South Region tournament November 3-4 at the Davis Field House.
