The Bruins volleyball team is taking to the road for one final road trip of the regular season. Friday, the team will travel to Winston-Salem, North Carolina to take part in a tri-match against the Regent University Royals and the Carolina University Bruins. The Bruins will then travel to Misenheimer, NC for another tri-match against the Salem College Spirits and the Pfeiffer University Falcons.
Going into the weekend, the Bruins are 24-4 overall, 6-1 in conference, and are sporting a six-game winning streak. They closed out last week with a double-header against Brevard College and Pfeiffer University sweeping both teams. Against Brevard, the Bruins won the exciting match 25-19, 25-19, and 25-14. With momentum in their favor, the Bruins then beat the Pfeiffer Falcons 25-14, 25-19, and 25-21.
Regent University (NCCAA DI)
This will be the fifth matchup between the Bruins and the Royals. Bob Jones leads all time 4-0. The last matchup happened during the 2022 season where the Bruins swept the Royals in a decisive matchup (25-7, 25-14, 25-10). The Bruins and Royals match is scheduled for Friday at 4:00 p.m.
Carolina University (NCCAA DI)
In the battle of the Bruins, the BJU Bruins lead 10-3 in the overall matchup. During a matchup earlier this season, the two teams played an exciting four sets in Davis Field House. The BJU Bruins dropped set one, but came back to win the next three to win the match 3-1. The two Bruins will take each other on Friday at 6:00 p.m.
Salem College (NCAA DIII)
This is the second time the Spirits and Bruins will meet on the court. The first match between the two teams was during the 2022 season where the Bruins played a competitive four-set match. The Salem Spirits squeaked out the first set 23-25, but that was all they could manage as the Bruins finished them off 25-22, 25-18, and 25-17. The Bruins and Spirits are scheduled for Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
Pfeiffer University (NCAA DIII)
The Pfeiffer Falcons and Bruins are going into the sixth matchup in their history. The Bruins lead the Falcons 4-1 overall with their lone loss being the very first match between the two teams. In the last match, the Bruins were defending their home court this season where they won in straight sets (25-14, 25-19, 25-21). The Bruins will take on the Falcons Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
