The Bruins are in North Carolina this weekend where they played William Peace University. The Bruins and Pacers played a close game as the two teams struggled for the lead. With an opportunity to close the game out, the Bruins fell behind late to lose 71-75.
The two teams played an outstanding match keeping it close throughout all four quarters. The first quarter was the highest scoring of the four quarters ending in a 23-23 tie. Going into the second quarter the Bruins were able to edge out the Pacers to finish the half up 37-35. What kept the Bruins in it was their ability to rebound throughout the first half, but couldn't keep it up as they went into the second half.
As the second half of the game played in a similar fashion, the two teams struggled for the lead. The score at the end of the third quarter found the Bruins holding their lead by two points in the 57-55 game. The fourth quarter turned into a back-and-forth battle as the lead flipped several times. Late into the fourth quarter, the Bruins lost their lead and couldn't get it back. The game ended 71-75 in favor of the Pacers.
"It's great to be competing and we look so good at times which gives us great hope, but we have to continue to work on the little things," Head Coach Mike LeViere commented. "Every one of us is working hard and the effort is there, but we have to put things together and play a complete 40 minutes."
The Bruins will be back in action tomorrow afternoon against the Greensboro College Pride. You can watch the game
