After starting out the first six games on the road, the women's basketball team is getting their first crack at some home court action Monday evening. They're scheduled to play Sewanee University of the South, a NCAA Division III opponent, from Sewanee, Tennessee. The Sewanee Tigers enter this matchup with a 1-6 Record.
As previously mentioned, the Bruins started their season with six straight away games. Their most recent trip to North Carolina over the weekend to play William Peace University and Greensboro College. The tough matchups were great experience for the Bruins. The Bruins split the weekend going 1-1 picking up their first win of the season against Greensboro College. After the weekend trip, they now sit at 1-5 on the season.
Coming into Monday's matchup between the BJU Bruins and Sewanee Tigers, the two teams have previously only played each other one other time. The close game took place on the Tigers home court where the Bruins fell just short of leaving with the win. The 71-74 game fell to the Tigers in mid-December last season.
