The women's basketball team has had a busy week and it's not over yet. Friday night the Bruins are hosting Regent University at 5:00 p.m.
The Bruins have had a busy week featuring back-to-back home games on Monday and Tuesday night. They then went on the road for an exhibition game against cross town school Furman University. They close out the busy week against the Royals. At the beginning of the week, against the Sewanee Tigers, the Bruins played a close one to come out on top 83-80. In their second straight home game, they were outpaced by the Brevard Tornadoes 61-42. During the exhibition game, the Bruins fell to the Furman Paladins.
The Royals have a 3-6 record coming into the game Friday evening. They played in the Covenant Classic in Georgia December 1 and 2 against Covenant College and LaGrange College. They first played and lost to Covenant College on Friday night 81-62. Then on Saturday lost 97-70 against LaGrange College. They have had the week off leading up to a showdown with the Bruins.
The Bruins and Royals have played against each other two previous times with the Bruins taking the home the win both times. Last season, the two first played on the Bruins home court in mid-November where the Bruins took home a 77-34 victory. They again played mid-January on the Royals home court where the Bruins again came out on top 58-43.
