Tournament Information
The Bob Jones University women's basketball team is on their way to Kissimmee, Florida where they look to repeat as NCCAA DII South Region Champions at the NCCAA region tournament. The Bruins come into the weekend as the #3 seed as determined by the NCCAA power ranking.
Six teams will be competing this weekend at Johnson University (FL) with the seeding listed below.
- #1 - Toccoa Falls College
- #2 - Pensacola Christian College
- #3 - Bob Jones University
- #4 - Trinity Baptist College
- #5 - Johnson University Florida
- #6 - Southeastern Baptist College
The Bruins finished the regular season 11-13 overall and with a 4-4 conference record after a 76-59 win over Johnson University (FL) last Saturday.
Region play begins Thursday afternoon as the #3 seeded Bruins face #6 Southeastern Baptist College at 5 p.m. Thursday will mark the first meeting between the Bruins and Chargers. The Chargers picked up their one and only win in their first game of the season before losing 16 straight heading in to this weekend. Their last two region matches have been tight with Pensacola edging the Chargers 69-64 before the Chargers fell by two to Trinity Baptist College.
The winner of Thursday's contest will advance to the semi finals to face #2 Pensacola Christian College at 1 p.m. on Friday. The NCCAA South Region championship game will be played on Saturday, February 25 at 1 p.m.
As the team gets ready for regionals, Coach Leviere said "as long as we are playing better every single day, that's a really good thing, and we'll be looking for that this week."
The Bruins will look to capture their fourth region championship in program history. They won the NCCAA South Region championship in 2016-17, 2019-20 and 2021-22.
